A new bitcoin exchange from the New York Stock Exchange. Powered by Microsoft cloud tech, Bakkt, a new company created by Intercontinental Exchange, the owner and operator of NYSE, will hold and manage cryptocurrency and let people trade and convert bitcoin to US dollars and other fiat currencies. WannaCry virus blamed for halting microchip factory production lines. From the article: “Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) —the world’s largest makers of semiconductors and processors — was forced to shut down several of its chip-fabrication factories over the weekend after being hit by a computer virus. Now, it turns out that the computer virus outbreak at Taiwan chipmaker was the result of a variant of WannaCry — a massive ransomware attack that wreaked havoc across the world by shutting down hospitals, telecom providers, and many businesses in May 2017.” (The Hacker News)

Fizz, an open source TLS 1.3 library from Facebook. Fizz, a library for implementing TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.3 protocol, was open sourced by Facebook on Monday. This will help developers build more secure network applications as TLS 1.3 incorporates encryption of handshake messages, better ways for deriving secret keys, and zero roundtrip time resumption (0-RTT) connection setup, among other improvements over TLS 1.2.
